Beautiful vintage Dutch folklore wood wall clock. The clock pediment features brass scrollwork on three sides. Atop the clock's brass bell is a brass sculpture of Atlas the world bearer, raising a black globe above its head, decorated with gold moon and stars. The metal clock dial is decorated with roman numerals, numbers and decorative elements in black. The centre of the dial shows a hand painted scene of the sea with two sailing ships traversing the waves, while above the dial is a pastoral farm scene and below there are folk art florals. This clock has an eight day movement which chime strikes on the hour and every half hour. Brass weights, pendulum and chains are included. Produced by Warmink WUBA, in the Netherlands, circa 1960s.
