Belleek Tridacna Handled Cake Plate — Vintage Irish Porcelain
A graceful serving piece from one of Ireland's most celebrated potteries. This vintage Belleek Tridacna cake plate features the iconic raised shell pattern — first commissioned for the Prince of Wales in 1868 — rendered here in cream with pale yellow figural coral handles. Elegant on a table, equally at home in a curio cabinet. Makes a lovely wedding gift.
The Tridacna Pattern
Inspired by the fluted form of the Tridacna clam, Belleek's shell motif is among the most recognizable in decorative ceramics. This example dates to the 6th mark period (1965–1980), a well-documented era for collectors.
