Vintage mid-century era alexandrite/neodymium glass ashtray with a modernist design. Alexandrite glass changes colour under different types of light triggered by the use of Neodymium, a natural and rare binary compound, in the production of the crystal. Under fluorescent light, it appears blue and under incandescent or natural light, it appears purple. Either way, it's a stunning piece of art glass. Produced by Moser, Czechoslovakia, circa 1950.
In excellent condition, free from chips/cracks with minimal wear.
