A mint-condition rarity from Josef Originals' Oriental Girls series

This is one of the harder-to-find pieces from Josef Originals' Good Luck / Oriental Girls series — a collectible line of hand-painted porcelain figurines made in Japan during the 1960s. Dressed in a high-gloss pastel pink kimono with a traditional blue back-bow, she carries a delicate front medallion inscribed with gold kanji characters for luck and prosperity.

Unlike many variants in the series, this piece has no parasol — a self-contained design that means the most fragile element is already accounted for. The ceramic loop holding the good luck medallion is fully intact and original.

About the Inscription

The medallion reads 福寿 (Fú Shòu) — a classic pairing in Chinese culture:

  • 福 (Fú) — good fortune, happiness, and luck
  • 寿 (Shòu) — longevity and long life
