LE Smith Black Amethyst Glass Pedestal Planter — USA, Depression Era
That deep, almost-black purple that only reveals itself in direct light — that's black amethyst glass, and this rectangular pedestal planter is a great example of it. Attributed to LE Smith Glass, it features indented fluted panels running the full height of the body and a raised rope-twist detail wrapping the lower section. Moody, graphic, and genuinely vintage.
So Many Ways to Use It
Pop in a succulent, a trailing pothos, or a few dried stems. Use it as a pencil cup or make-up brush holder on your desk. Fill it with dry ice at Halloween for an instant spooky centrepiece. It just works.
