Vintage Artesania Rinconada Elephant Figurine #9
This retired #9 elephant is a handmade earthenware figurine from Artesania Rinconada, crafted in Uruguay by artisan brothers Jesús & Javier Carbajales and Jorge DeRosa. Every detail is sculpted by hand — from the segmented trunk curled upward for good luck, to the ornate glazed saddle and incised maker's mark on the base. Signed on the bottom.
Why You'll Love It
Beloved by collectors worldwide, Rinconada pieces are known for their unmistakable character and personality. This elephant delivers: deeply textured grey earthenware with carved swirling ear detail, cream ivory tusks, expressive black eyes, and a show-stopping tan ribbed sunburst saddle centred with a multicolour glazed flower medallion in green, blue, aqua, black and white. A retired piece that's increasingly hard to find.
