The following is excerpted from the Dufferin County Museum Archives
""Line 85" is one of the oldest and most popular stemware lines carried by the W.J Hughes "Corn Flower" Glass Company. W.J. "Jack" Hughes began cutting "Corn Flower" on "Line 85" blanks in the earliest years of his company. Due to the lasting popularity of the line, the "Corn Flower" Glass Company kept an open stock of the blanks. This allowed customers to replace individual pieces or add matching items to their collection over time. Over the years, the glass blanks were produced by several American glass manufactures. After WWII, "Line 85" glass blanks were imported from factories in Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Germany and Hungary. "Line 85" was carried until 1988 when the "Corn Flower" Glass Company ceased production."
